Fireworks, music, food trucks part of Saturday celebration
The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) Fireworks Spectacular 2021, presented by Spectrum, will take place this Saturday, June 26, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Vance Harmon Amphitheatre, 625 Country Club Drive. The free event also will have food trucks, assorted vendors, inflatables, balloon art and more.
Omar Cardona will sing the national anthem. Enjoy live music by Dre-C to get the party started. Other entertainers include Bryan Malpass and the Band, Latin Timbale y Dance, DJ entertainment, a professional hula-hoop performer, jugglers lighting up the night, and more.
Parking is limited at Vance Harmon Park. Shuttle bus pick-up is at the Poinciana Community Center, 445 Marigold Avenue. Shuttle Service begins at 5 p.m., running every 20 minutes, and the last shuttle from Harmon Park is at 11 p.m.
Softball clinic: All girls ages 8 and older are invited to swing by Deerwood Park, 4051 Laurel Avenue, on the last two Wednesdays in June for a girls softball clinic. All skill levels may participate in this Poinciana Little League softball conditioning program on June 23 and 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $10 per player per session. Looking for donors: OneBlood will return to Poinciana Medical Center, 325 Cypress Parkway, on Thursday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All donors will receive a OneBlood T-shirt and a $10 e-gift card, plus a wellness check, which includes a COVID-19 antibody test. Talk to the Doc: Poinciana Medical Center will present a Facebook Live event on Wednesday, June 30 at 10 a.m., entitled “Doc Talk: Signs and Symptoms of a Heat-Related Emergency” hosted by Poinciana Medical Center Emergency Medical Director Dr. Daniel Snediker, who will answer your questions live.
