The City of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department has announced a number of programs for the summer season.
The first of the summer “Dive-In-Movie” series will kick off on June 1 with the movie “Trolls Band Together”. Held at the Bob Makinson Aquatic Center, the free outside event is suitable for all ages, and will begin around 7 p.m. or when it is dark enough to see on the screen. Three Summer program have sign-ups:
Ms. Joanne Kiddie Camp (ages 3–5): Learn through play with crafts, music, arts, field trips and more. Located at Oak Street Park Community Center. Held Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting June 3. A $20 non-refundable deposit can be put down per week to reserve your spot, remaining balance due Friday before week begins. Birth certificate required at time of registration. Campers must be potty trained. For more information, call 407-518-2360.
Start Smart Baseball (ages 3-5) – An introductory baseball program to prepare children for organized tee ball, baseball, and softball in a fun, inclusive environment. The camp will be held Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. at the Fortune Road Athletic Complex from June 5 – July 17 (No Class June 19). Capoeira Youth Summer Camp (ages 6-11) – Learn the dynamic Brazilian Martial Art of Capoeira; self-defense, acrobatics, dance-like moves and music, all in one culturally rich art form.
