The City of Kissimmee announced Monday it has been recognized as the 2026 Community Champion by The Opportunity Center for its partnership and continued support of individuals with developmental disabilities.
The Opportunity Center serves individuals with developmental disabilities across Osceola County. Their programs provide training, employment, and independent living support that help participants build daily, social, and job skills while promoting greater independence.
The partnership also extends beyond funding.
“Through volunteer opportunities supported by the City, participants are empowered to give back to their community, including assisting with local clean-up efforts and taking pride in the places they help care for,” a city release said.
