Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Rotary Club of Kissimmee West and a $1,125 donation to the Dictionary Project, the Rotary Club will be able to provide over 360 dictionaries to third graders for this upcoming 2021-22 School Year for elementary students in Osceola County.
Sheriff Marcos Lopez will help the Rotary Club with distribution of the dictionaries to Trinity Elementary & Lutheran Church School, Pleasant Hill Elementary School and Westside K-8 School.
“Our volunteers have provided excellent Rotarian Service by picking up the Dictionaries, placing a label in each dictionary, and delivering them to the school,” said Vincent Chiaise, Jr., a member of the Rotary Club of Kissimmee West. “We are looking forward to the school year because we can deliver dictionaries in person. Last year during the pandemic, we were not able to deliver dictionaries to the third grade students in person.”
“The Sheriff’s Office is always looking for opportunities to help the communities in many different ways,” said Sheriff Lopez. “The dictionary program is a very educative tool and something I think would be very beneficial to school-aged children. I cannot think of a better way to spend seized assets from illegal activities within our community to help programs like the Rotarian Dictionary Program.”
