The wait was worth it for Harmony’s softball and flag football teams Wednesday.
After a two-hour rain delay, the Lady Longhorns flag football team blanked Lake Nona, 25-0, in a District 10 semifinal game, and the Harmony softball team completed a 2-0 victory over Bartow in the 7A-2 regional semifinals.
Both games were postponed from Tuesday because of lightning and rain.
The flag football team (12-0) will host Cypress Creek for the district championship Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The winner advances to Saturday’s first round play-in game.
The softball team (25-2) will host Plant City Durant, a 5-2 winner over Plant City, in the regional finals Friday at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the Class 7A state tournament in Vero Beach May 8.
The Osceola High 7A-2 regional baseball game at Bartow Wednesday was postponed to Thursday at 4 p.m. because of rain. The winner advances to the semifinals Tuesday.
The District 19 flag football tournament at OHS was postponed for the second time Wednesday. The tournament was rescheduled to begin Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
The weather forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of rain both Thursday and Friday.
