In a race that was called before polls closed in the Panhandle, Donald Trump easily won the Florida presidential primary Tuesday, garnering 81.2% of the vote statewide.

Nikki Haley (13.9%) polled second and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who left the race after the Iowa caucuses last month, was third with 3.7% of the vote.

The results were much the same in Osceola County. Of the 11,681 ballots cast among Osceola's 59,135 registered Republicans (19.75), 9,810 of the votes (84%) went to Trump. Haley got 11.1% and DeSantis 3.6%.

Trump claims all 125 delegates when Republicans officially choose their nominee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this July. Florida Democrats had no primary because President Joe Biden was the only candidate brought forward in the state.

"The Florida GOP was proud to officially endorse President Trump earlier this year and tonight's results underline what we already know: Florida Republicans are united and ready to send Joe Biden back to his basement in Delaware this November," said Republican Party of Florida Chairman Evan Power. "I want to congratulate President Trump on his overwhelming victory tonight and I look forward to working with him to Make America Great Again."

Voters in Arizona, Illinois, Kansas and Ohio also cast ballots Tuesday.
