Wrestling postseason starts with thrilling district boys tourney

Wrestling is the final winter sport to be contested, and the road to the state tournament began on Saturday for the boys, as seven county schools sent teams to district tournaments.At Harmony, Osceola held on to defeat the Longhorns (237.5-233.0) for the District 3A-9 title.

Osceola’s high-pressure defense and clutch free throw shooting down the stretch Monday was enough to overcome a six-point fourth-quarter deficit for the Kowboys to defeat Plant, 75-66.Osceola (25-3) has won seven in a row and now hosts Sarasota (27-2) in Thursday’s 7 p.m.
