Saturday is yard sale day!
The Solivita Community Yard Sale, open to the public, takes place this Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon in Freedom Park (354 Village Dr.) and will take place rain or shine.
The same day and on Sunday, the community of Bellalago will hold a community garage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Find treasures and great deals.
The Commons Market at BridgePrep Osceola campus (4851 KOA St.) begins this Saturday and every other Saturday after from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is a place to connect with and support local small businesses. The Association of Poinciana Villages presents its Annual Luau Party on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Victory Pool (445 Marigold Ave.) for adults ages 21 and over. Wear your favorite island attire and enjoy an evening filled with music, dancing, food, a cash bar and tropical fun. One guest will have a chance to win a 75-inch smart TV.

R.I.S.E. Up Osceola: READ Bus will be at the Library on Monday, Oct. 5. This Osceola School District’s Special Programs Department is bringing their READ Bus, a renovated yellow school bus with an interior that resembles a mini pre-K classroom that will be onsite. The age group is children ages 3-4. There will be two times for this event – 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
Loco for Libros explores stories, music and rhythms in this bilingual story time On Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 10:30-11 a.m. Sing, dance and move through interactive activities that encourages your child to learn new words and practice listening.
Baby and Me takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 11:30 a.m.-12 noon. Hug your little ones while sharing this special first-time experience. This is for children up to 18 months. This program introduces books with playtime and repetitive music.
Flex Your Fingers takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Spend quality time with your preschooler in a kid-centered learning environment. Participate in pre-planned activities that encourage the development of fine motor skills.

Save the date for Poinciana Christian Church’s (3181 Pleasant Hill Road) Fall Fest on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 5-7 p.m. This free family event is an evening filled with food, fun and fall festivities. Enjoy Trunk or Treat, carnival games, S’mores, food vendors, pumpkin painting ($1, cash only). No scary costumes or fake weapons at this event.
ALCO/oTECH will hold a Trunk or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 5:30 p.m. from its campus at 1030 Cypress Pkwy. This evening of fun features food trucks, raffles, a haunted house, music and treats. Prizes will be given for the best costume (family friendly only).
Crush the Crisis Prescription Take Back Day will be on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a way to dispose of unused prescription medication safely and anonymously. There will be drive-thru collection site at HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital, 325 Cypress Pkwy., but look for more locations in the coming days.
The Annual APV Trunk or Treat is Saturday, Oct. 31 from 6-9 p.m. at Poinciana Activity Campus (445 Marigold Ave.) The Trunk or Treat will feature a DJ harvest dance party, trunks handing out candy, vendor tables, food trucks and a haunted house. There will be lots of photo ops stations.
