The Poinciana Library’s Book Sale takes place Sept. 10-12. This is a great opportunity to stock your bookshelves while supporting the Friends of the Library and the amazing Library programs they support.
R.I.S.E. Up Osceola: READ Bus will be at the Library on Monday, Sept. 14. This Osceola School District’s Special Programs Department is bringing their READ Bus, a renovated yellow school bus with an interior that resembles a mini pre-K classroom that will be onsite for children ages 3-4. There will be 2 times for this event – 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
Rhythm, Rhyme & Storytime takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. This program is for up to age 5. Sing, swing and sway through this program dedicated to music and movement.
That’s followed by Baby and Me from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Hug your little ones while sharing this special first-time experience. This is for children up to 18 months. This program introduces books with playtime and repetitive music.
Flex Your Fingers takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Spend quality time with your preschooler in a kid’s centered learning environment. Participate in pre-planned activities that encourage the development of fine motor skills.
The Wishing Spell takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. School aged children may enter the magical world of The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell! Crack enchanted clues, conquer a charmed escape room, create magical keep sakes and bring the fairy tale story to life.
Calling all crafters! Crafty Crew meets up at the Library on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. This meet-up are for those who love to knit, crochet, cross stitch, quilt, scrap book or any other portable craft. Bring your portable craft to learn, share ideas and create. All skill levels are welcome.

Now is a great time to take pictures of your home before you start decorating for the holidays and submit your nomination for the Poinciana Beautiful Awards Program. Poinciana Beautiful was created in honor of residents who take excellent care maintaining the exterior of their homes. The winning homes are selected by a panel of judges, with one home from each participating Village crowned “Poinciana Beautiful Home of the Year. In addition to bragging rights, those honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony, receive a trophy and numerous prizes and gifts from the numerous sponsors.

There’s BINGO every Friday night at the Poinciana Community Center, but Sept. 25’s bingo has a special theme. Ladies, brush off your poodle skirts and fellas, roll up those blue jeans for a Bingo Sock Hop Party.
Doors open at 6 p.m., first ball is dropped at 7 p.m. 10 games are available for $5 with cash payouts. This event is for adults over 18, no outside food or drink and the concession stand will be open.
Barkapalooza takes place on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poinciana Dog Park (5100 Allegheny Road). All dogs, all people are welcome to this free event.
