Osceola County is warning resident to beware of calls demanding payment for an inmate that seem to originate from the Osceola County Jail.
County officials say scammers may claim to be jail officials, impersonate jail leadership, or say money is needed for bail, GPS monitoring or other jail-related costs. (Life hack: the jail will never call to request or demand money be sent through cash apps, gift cards or payment over the phone.)
If you do receive such a call, do not agree to send money or share financial information.
