For over a decade, The Lifeboat Project has dedicated its efforts to providing assistance and support to survivors of human trafficking, offering them a chance for recovery and a new beginning.

Saturday night, the Silver Spurs Rodeo lent its support in that effort, donating $5,000 to the cause to help fund Lifeboat’s mission to empower the lives of survivors through long-term aftercare, residential programs, trauma counseling, housing, personal development, and education resources.

“This donation reflects our organization’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need and aligns with our values of community support,” the Silver Spurs Rodeo said after Saturday night’s rodeo.

In 2021, The Lifeboat Project expanded its reach, with the ability to start housing more homeless trafficked mothers and their children, and homeless mothers whose children have been trafficked. It is one of a few agencies in the United States to do so and the only one in Central Florida. Once rescued, mothers and their children require a safe housing environment, medical, mental health, dental care, and educational/vocational opportunities as immediate necessities–which is where The Lifeboat Project comes in.
