Osceola County Sheriff's deputies took down a carjacking suspect Wednesday in Poinciana, who reportedly told them he carjacked a vehicle so he could get heroin.

Hector Saul Pastor-Leon, 53, was arrested and charged with felony carjacking and resisting arrest without violence.

Per a Sheriff's report, deputies responded to a Walgreens on Cypress Parkway, where an elderly female victim reported a carjacking. She advised that an Hispanic male entered her vehicle and sat in the front passenger seat. He reached over and turned her vehicle on and ielled at her to not call anyone. When he then climbed into the driver's seat, the woman ran from her vehicle.

The suspect fled the parking lot in the car and was soon located in the area. The suspect continued to flee in the car upon sight of law
enforcement, then abandoned the vehicle in the parking lot of the Wal Mart on West Vine Street in Kissimmee. The suspect fled on foot, but was apprehended in the garden center of the Wal Mart. OCSO reports Pastor-Leon cooperated with this investigation and advised his vehicle broke down in Poinciana.

Osceola County Jail Records show Pastor-Leon is being held on $24,000 bond. He has previous felony arrests in Osceola County, in 2015 for possession of heroin and other drug paraphernalia, and in 2020 for driving without a license.
