The Osceola School District has earned system reaccreditation by Cognia™, a nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts, and education service providers. Cognia, formerly AdvancED, nationally recognized the Osceola School District for meeting rigorous standards that focus on productive learning environments, equitable resource allocation that meet the needs of learners, and effective leadership. Earning reaccreditation from the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission means that the system and all of its schools remain accredited, and that the Osceola School District is recognized across the nation as a school system that meets Cognia Standards of Quality, maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement.

“Systems reaccreditation as conferred by the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission provides the Osceola School District with a nationallyrecognized mark of quality for our school system and each school within our system,” shared Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace. “It demonstrates to our community our commitment to excellence, our openness to external review and feedback, and our desire to be the best we can be on behalf of the students and families we serve.”

To earn accreditation from Cognia, a school district must implement a continuous process of improvement, and submit to internal and external review. School systems in good standing can maintain their accreditation for a sixyear term.

“The Osceola School District is to be commended for demonstrating that it has met high standards, and is making progress on key indicators that impact student learning,” Dr. Mark A. Elgart, president and CEO of Cognia, said.

St. Cloud Hospital named one of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare

For the second year in a row, Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital was selected by Modern Healthcare as one of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare.

The 2023 award program recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry nationwide. Modern Healthcare based its selections on the results of an assessment questionnaire conducted in April by Workforce Research Group.

Orlando Health team members were randomly selected to participate in the survey, which gathered feedback about work environment, communications, job satisfaction and compensation.

“We know at Orlando Health that happy, well cared for, team members translate to world class, compassionate and highquality care for those patients who trust us with their care,” said Brian Wetzel, president, Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital. “I am so proud of our team for the work that they do every day and, as a resident of St. Cloud, I am thrilled for my community to have such wonderful medical experts available to us and who feel the true privilege it is to serve others in the way that we do.”

The alphabetical list of this year’s 150 winners, which also includes Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital, is available at ModernHealthcare. com/ bestplaceslist.

St. Cloud Boys & Girls Club — urgent Summer Camp need

With its first-ever summer camp slated to start next week, the St. Cloud Boys & Girls Club has put out a call to the community for two or three five-gallon portable water coolers with wheels, as the camp may have to get ice from a facility across the street.

The club is also looking for a new or used plug-in water cooler stand.

“The need is for the youth, when they are outside playing to be able to refresh themselves with cool or cold water during activities,” Club Director Alex Lindsay explained.

The club is located at 10th Street and Virginia Avenue, across from Cannery Park just east of downtown St. Cloud.
