Body

Voting will begin in this year’s Rotary Club of Kissimmee West eighth annual Student Virtual Art Exhibit on April 17.

For a week, over 500 exhibits from art students throughout Osceola County will be judged based on grade, and cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded to the students and teachers who participate.

Entries will be on display for review April 17-24 at www. osceolagenerations. org. There is a donation of $5 for each vote placed for your favorite artist(s). All of the donation proceeds go to support the Council on Aging programs.

The student with the most votes through the “People’s Choice Award” will receive $250, “Best of Show” winners will receive $100, and their teachers will receive $100 for art supplies. Remaining proceeds will, this year, support charitable causes focusing on feeding the hungry through Osceola Meals on Wheels and the food pantries in Kissimmee and St. Cloud, senior housing through the Osceola Council on Aging, as well as funding youth education, development and post-secondary scholarships throughout Osceola County.

Last year the student art contest raised over $8,300 to help fund youth education, development, and post-secondary student scholarships, as well as the Osceola Council on Aging’s Senior Housing, Food Pantry and Osceola Meals on Wheels programs. The artwork was displayed on the www. osceolagenerations. org website through the first part of May.
