The cities of St. Cloud and Kissimmee both have “big deal” events to usher in a new year on Friday, that are back after coronavirus-inspired hiatuses last year.
Orlando Utilities presents the fifth annual Rockin’ the Cloud 2021-2022 presented by the City of St. Cloud along with OUC, the Reliable One, will host the 5th Annual Rockin’ the Cloud on Friday from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. in downtown St. Cloud.
This annual celebration to ring in the New Year will boast three stages of live entertainment, with performances from Maiden Voyage, Raspberry Pie, Raging Sun, Harlequin and the event headliner, Tim Montana.
As in years past, the countdown to midnight will include St. Cloud’s signature Cloud Drop to ring in the New Year.
The event requires the following road closures: Pennsylvania Avenue from 10th Street to 12th Street and New York Avenue from 10th Street to 12th Street will be closed starting at 10 a.m. Friday and will reopen at noon on Saturday. Vehicles left on the closed streets during this time will be towed. For more information call, 407-957-7243.
In downtown Kissimmee, Dakin Street will turn into one big New Year’s Eve celebration beginning at 7 p.m. There is no charge to be a part of the festivities, but reservations are required for any one of the specific street venues: 3 Sisters Speakeasy, Vintage Vino,
Breeze Whiskey Lounge and 2 Brothers Steakhouse, which will all offer food, special cocktails and New Year’s entertainment.
Parking is available in the parking garages next to the Kissimmee Civic Center and on Pleasant Street.
