The Osceola County Fair is preparing for its the closing weekend of its 80th anniversary celebration at Osceola Heritage Park.

Guests who visit the fairgrounds can treat themselves to all of the classic festivities that have been a staple of the event since its creation. Appearing once again this year are the unforgettable rides and mouthwatering food that have become such a large part of what drives people to the fairgrounds every year.

But, in many ways, it's the people that make the Fair great.

Greg Marler is one of the vendors that has been working with the Osceola County Fair for over a decade. This year he’s running an ice cream stand, but if you ask him, he’ll tell you that he's not just there to sell ice cream.

“I love meeting people. Watching families really enjoy their time out here,” he said. You just get to meet so many people whether its customers or other vendors, and that's always nice.”

Waller isn’t the only person who looks forward to working the County Fair every year. For the past 20 years, Andre Graham has been the head supervisor of ride operations. His favorite time of year is when the Fair comes to Osceola County.

“There are so many different sights to see out here. We always expect to see a nice crowd. I want to make sure that the rides are running and families are happy,” he said.

Officials from the Osceola County Fair believe that this year will be the biggest one they have ever had. Attendance is projected to be a record-breaking 100,000.
