If you need proof, the Silver Spurs Arena was sold out Saturday for the action-packed annual Boots, Bulls and Barrels, showcasing the area’s best bull and saddle bronc riders—and the best riding stock the Silver Spurs Rodeo can raise—and fastest cowgirls around the barrel racing course.
But, part of the pastime is community. During the rodeo the Silver Spurs Riding Club presented a $10,000 donation to Safety First Pediaquatics of St. Cloud, which specializes in providing swim lessons to area children, including those with special needs, and recognized Florida Teacher of the Year, agriculture teacher Kyndall Brown of Harmony Middle School.
Prior to the ridin’ and the racin’, the Riding Club hosted the Runway to Hope Fall Festival to benefit children and families battling pediatric cancer. Over 150 children with their families got an afternoon to spend time together outside of the hospital and treatment environment to enjoy decorated trunks with candy and giveaways, food, games and family-friendly activities.
