’90s rock band Semisonic put it best: "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”

Last week marked the end of the public school careers of thousands of Osceola County graduates. The Class of 2022 from eight high schools and four magnet or alternative schools received their diplomas at ceremonies at the Silver Spurs Arena that looked the most “normal” that they have had since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Graduation represents the culmination of a journey and the attainment of a goal, an exciting period in a person’s life and an array of feelings surfaced among the graduates. The ceremonies were inperson and live streamed adhering to CDC recommendations, state and local health and safely guidelines. Due to the recent tragedy at Robb Elementary in Texas, extra patrols around Osceola Heritage Park ensured all attendees’ safety.

As the 2022 graduates of Osceola County close one more chapter and their life continuing to another, here is a celebration of them as a community in their time of great success.
