Happy Birthday, Kissimmee! So what do you get for a 139-year-old?
Actually, it was the city that gave back to its residents Saturday, with a free festival at Lakefront Park. It was a warm and humid day, the perfect pair for some hot BBQ and cool electric blues music from the likes of Damon Fowler. Kissimmee Utility Authority brought its Kids Zone for the young ones, which included bounce houses and a kids-size bull ride. Community and school groups represented how the city has intersected history and progress — the things that make it a great place to live.
