“The Community Visioning Session is part of our update of the City’s Strategic Plan,” said Abismael Abreu, Strategic Initiatives Administrator for the City. “This will be an interactive exercise where the community will have the opportunity to help design how the city should look in 30 years. There will be a graphic artist live sketching as the community provides feedback.”
This is the third in a five-step process the city has shared in the information gathering process:
- Phase 1 - Logistics: City staff works with the consultant to secure venues, create surveys, and schedule internal and public meetings.
- Phase 2 - Research and Review: Our consultants will review documents, research information, and collaborate with our boards and committees to build on our history.
- Phase 3 - Engagement and Outreach: This includes the Community Visioning session, a community survey, a staff survey, focus group meetings, one-on-one interviews, presentations, and other feedback from the community.
- Phase 4 - Strategic Planning Sessions: The framework will be created based on the information gathered in Phase 3. Several meetings will be held, including a strategic plan retreat, an implementation meeting, another community session, and several work sessions.
- Phase 5 - Strategic and Implementation Plan Documents: This is the final phase where the Strategic Plan and Implementation Plan are developed, approved, and shared with the community.
