The City of St. Cloud’s Thrive Thursday will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Hopkins Park. This Thrive Thursday program will be an interactive workshop on resume writing and interview skills. This workshop is free, but registration is recommended. Then on Friday, come back out to the park for Movie in the Park on at 6:30 p.m. (movie will begin at sunset). The movie is “Over the Hedge” rated PG. Don’t forget to bring something to sit on. For more information, call 407-892-2533.

 

Women’s History From Beyond, a walkthrough Mount Peace Cemetery to discover the history of early St. Cloud women settlers buried within the town’s oldest graveyard will be on Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m. This is part of the Walking Library series and will be narrated by local historian Larisa Roderick. Meet there and park in the open field to the right of the cemetery.

 

Next weekend, St. Cloud’s St. Patrick’s Paint the Cloud Green Light Parade Party will be on Saturday, March 16 from 6:30-11 p.m. The parade will start at the Lakefront, go down Pennsylvania Avenue to 11th Street and back up Massachusetts Avenue to the Lakefront.

The downtown street party, after the parade, will feature Paradigm Party Band, dance performances and food trucks.

Dance into the world of interactive story telling with Books & Ballet on Saturday, March 30 at 2 p.m. at the St. Cloud Library. The Orlando Ballet will be presenting this in celebration of Women’s History Month. This story time is for ages 6-11.

 

The Downtown St. Cloud Celtic Festival, a family friendly evening celebrating Irish heritage takes place on Friday, March 22 from 5-9 p.m. on New York Avenue The evening includes food, vendors, live music, Celtic dance and drinks. There will be crafts for children as well as face painting. The local downtown eateries have prepared a menu of traditional Celtic foods, drinks and desserts. This is event is presented by Downtown St. Cloud.

 

Beginning Saturday, March 23 there will be a new Farmer’s Market in downtown St. Cloud at Pennsylvania Avenue and 9th Street in front of City Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be over 50 vendors offering a variety of local honey, meats, breads, sweets, coffee and more. ALCO (Adult Learning Center Osceola) is offering a Carpentry Pre-Apprentice Program. This program focuses on the basic skills needed to advance into a registered Carpentry Apprentice Program. Students will receive basic hands-on training. The tuition cost is $70 for new ALCO students and $50 for current students. Tuition includes books, lab supplies and certifications. Certifications include OSHA 10 hour and NCCER Core. Classes will be held at oTech, 2901 17th St.
