There is still time to register for the longest running Poinciana youth sports program. Join the Poinciana Predators Football and Cheer family in Flag Football (ages 4-6, $75 per child); tackle (7-10, $150 per child) cheerleading (4-14, $200 per child). Conditioning began this week at Vance Harmon Park, 50 Country Club Rd.). The program includes certified coaches and camps hosted by current NFL players (Derwin James, Evan Neal, Ventrell Miller and more). For more information, call Coach Jeff @ 689-208-6434.

 

AARP Foundation Tax–Aide provides free tax consulting with several preparation options. Special focus is on those over 50 or have low to moderate income. On Monday through April 15 only), from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tax–Aide will be at the Anthony DePalma Center (395 Marigold Ave.) with services available in English and Spanish. Stop by the Poinciana Library on Tuesday March 12 from 7-8:30 p.m. for Trivia Night, Women’s History Edition. Unleash your inner Rosie the Riveter and see how well you do on this quiz of past prominent women. Winners will receive a book prize of their choice. This event is for ages 19 and up.

Women in Film: Carmen Jones takes place at the Library on Saturday, Mar. 23 from 2-4:30 p.m. Immerse yourself in film history as you watch the talented styling of Dorothy Dandridge. This movie earned her an Academy Award nomination.

A community blood drive takes place on Wednesday, March 27. OneBlood’s Big Red Bus will be onsite to receive donations. This community blood drive runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All Library events are free and open to the public.

 

Save the date for an Easter event! Poinciana’s Spring Fest Eggstravaganza will be held on Saturday, March 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Poinciana Community Lawn, 445 Marigold Ave. There will be food trucks, vendors, games, bounce houses and an Easter Egg Hunt.
