Sami the Sandhill Crane’s Birthday Bash will be on Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cannery Park, (901 Virginia Ave.)
There will be activities and giveaways, free kids health screening provided by AdventHealth and. of course. birthday cake provided by Wholesome Keto Treats. Sami is the Parks and Recreation Department mascot.

Plot Twist: True Crime Time happens at the St. Cloud Libraryon Thursday, July 11 from 1:30-3 p.m. Each month, this group discusses the latest in cold cases and true crime. Also Thursday, Camp iREAD presents Carnival Day from 6-7 p.m. This family event celebrates summer with games and activities including face painting and fun family crafts.
Staying at the library, E.S.O.L. for Beginners will be held Friday, July 12 from 1011:30 a.m. This session allows others to become more familiar with the English language.
Bee there! Bees for BEEginers is the topic on Tuesday, July 16 at 11 a.m. Get the buzz for all things bees with local expert Robert Crisp of 3Beez Honey. This event is for all ages. The Big Red Bus will also be at the Library on Tuesday from 12-5 p.m. OneBlood will be onsite to receive your life-saving donations.
Then head inside for Homeschool Nutrition and Healthy Cooking. Abir Blaney, Nutrition Education Coordinator with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, will teach how to shop smarter. Using nutritional information to make healthy choices, the goal is to cook delicious affordable meals on a budget. This seminar takes place at noon.
Paint Night for adults takes place on Wednesday, July 17 from 6-7:30 p.m. Presented by local artist, Karen Robinson, this is your opportunity to unlock your creativity and paint a masterpiece. Supplies are required. Registration is required. Registration opens up at 8 a.m. the day of the event. The Library will be showing the movie Super Mario Brothers on Friday, July 12 at 2 p.m. Come back the next week, July 19 and check out Elemental, and wrap up the month on July 26 with Wall-E at 2 p.m.
All Library programs are free and open to the public.
The St. Cloud Police Department is accepting applications for their Police Explorers Program. This program is for those aged 14-20 with an interest in learning about a career in law enforcement. The program offers hands on police experience through training, exercises, competitions and ride-alongs. Youth ages 14-18 are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.
