Here’s hoping everyone is staying safe through the rains and winds of Hurricane Ian. Here’s a list of events to check out once all the effects are over:

National Night Out, presented by St. Cloud Police Department, takes place Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at St. Cloud Lakefront. This free event is held to allow the public to interact with police officers and other community members. There will be a Dunk-a-Cop tank, face painting, balloon artists, SCPD’s “Rockin’ Ranger” DJ, SCPD Command vehicles, canine demonstration, inflatable obstacle course, food trucks and giveaways.

The City of St. Cloud will host its Fall Festival at The Ranch (5452 Jones Road) on Oct 8-9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Admission to this seasonal family fun fest is $10 per person. Make your way through the crop maze, enjoy music, hay rides, a kid’s zone, food trucks, local vendors, pumpkin games and more. For more information, call 407-957-7243.

Bring your toddler, ages 2-4 to Toddler Open Gym at the St. Cloud Civic Center each Monday from 10:30 a.m.-noon. The fee is $3 per child. Expect an unguided play time that will allow your child to explore the different set-ups in the gym with their adult in arm’s reach. The benefits of this program include improving gross and fine motor skills, enhanced social skills and more. For more information, call 407-957-7243.

The next Breakfast with the Pros presented by St. Cloud Main Street will be on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 8 a.m. at VFW Post 3227 (915 New York Ave. This event is sponsored by Ford Insurance and Osceola Engineering Incorporated with breakfast provided by Chick-fil-A. The speaker will be Howard Berg, who is recognized as the world’s fastest reader. That distinction comes from the accelerated learning technique he developed that turns information overload into information assets. He is listed in the 1990 Guinness Book of World Records for reading more than 25,000 words a minute and writing more than 100 words a minute. St. Cloud Main Streets Historic and Ghost Walking Tours are back! The Guided Historic Walking Tour is led by Ron McCracken, Past Department Commander of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. The historic walking tour takes you back to the early days of St. Cloud’s beginnings. Discover a history rich in development, a fire that ruined part of downtown and see some of the newer additions.

Ghost Tours introduces you to the spirits lurking around downtown St. Cloud. This tour features multiple stops where you will learn about the ghosts in the building, as well as the history behind them.
