The First Annual Because of the Brave Festival takes place this Saturday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centennial Park (1214 10th St.). Enjoy food trucks, vendors, games and raffles. It is presented by Operation Vet First Foundation. Operation Vet First provides low to no cost repairs to active duty veterans or first responders that need assistance with projects on their homes. Also Saturday, Kingdom Minded Ministries will hold its Community Health Fair, Mind, Body and Spirit on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Cloud Community Center (3101 17th St.) Professionals in mental health, diabetes and prostate health will be on-site. Their Pastor will give guidance on spiritual growth to complete the holistic scope of your well-being.

 

Dine before dark at Harmony’s Lakeshore Park’s Food Truck Frenzy at Buck Lake on Wednesday, Aug. 2 from 5-8 p.m. Food trucks include the Saucy Spoon, Sweet Rolled Tacos and Los Pinches Tacos. Yum!

 

The City of St. Cloud and Hopkins Heroes presents Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hopkins Park, (620 E. 17th St.). This free event will have games, food, music, bounce house, haircuts, educational information and school supplies. For more information, call 407-957-7243.

That same day, A Hero for Kids 5th Annual Back2School Celebration takes place on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Staples Plaza (4058 13th St.) This is a drive-thru event. Line-up begins at 10 a.m. You must register for this event. This event is for children attending Osceola County elementary and middle schools only. Children must be present, identification is required (parent’s driver’s license and child’s school ID or report card). To register, go to bit.ly/44YyiJ4.

 

Learn about “The Myths and Realities of St. Cloud” on Saturday, Aug. 5, 10 a.m. at St. Cloud Heritage Museum (1012 Massachusetts Ave.) Larisa Roderick will explain what is fiction and what is real regarding St. Cloud’s history.

 

Registration is now open for previous vendors to participate in Kenansville’s Cowboy Christmas on Saturday, Nov. 18.
