Fall is right around the corner! (Okay, I tried to say that with a straight face when it’s 95 degrees.)

Gear up, as the City of Kissimmee’s sports league registrations are coming to an end and the best time of the year to enjoy a farmers market fires up.

The city’s Adult Softball Fall League kicks off Aug. 22, running until Oct. 6. The adult softball league consists of a 10-game regular season with double header games played on chosen nights, with the top teams advancing to the playoffs. The City of Kissimmee offers a variety of softball leagues for adults: Monday Church League, Tuesday Men’s Recreation, Wednesday Men’s Competitive and Women’s league and Thursday Men’s Recreation at the Fortune Road Athletic Complex. Registration ends Aug. 12.

For the youth, the City of Kissimmee offers Start Smart Soccer, kicking off Aug. 17. Start Smart is a six-week program that helps children ages 3-5 develop the basic motor skills needed to participate in organized sports along with the confidence to perform those skills in a competitive setting. It promotes parent-child bonding since the parent works with their child in a supervised setting, helping them learn skills while having fun doing so. The program takes place at Fortune Road Athletic Complex. Registration ends Aug. 5. Visit the Fortune Road complex at https://www.loc8nearme.com/florida/kissimmee/fortune-road-athletic-complex/6804072/

What gives off the feel of fall more than a Farmer’s Market? That is exactly what Kissimmee has for everyone to enjoy to get in that mood. Held the first Friday of every month, with the next farmers market Aug. 5, this event will get you through season.

The Kissimmee Valley Farmer’s Market is a project of the Kissimmee Main Street Program. The market’s mission is to improve public health and nutrition options by providing a vehicle to educate the community, assist area farmers, producers and artisans with sustainable business opportunities, and create local pride while furthering the economic development of our community. Kissimmee Farmers market runs from 5-8 p.m. located at 92 Pleasant St. in Kissimmee. Visit www.kissimmeemainstreet.org for more information or to become a vendor.
