POINCIANA NEWS — Is your home ‘Poinciana Beautiful’?

Give your pumpkins a purpose! Give your pumpkins a second life—Osceola County’s office of Sustainability invites you to take part in Pumpkins with a Purpose, a seasonal recyclable program that turns pumpkins and fall gords into composts through Nov. 10. All pumpkins and gords may be donated that are free of paint, glitter or other decorations. In Poinciana, the drop-off location is the Poinciana Library, 101 N. Doverplum Ave.

 

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital will hold a Community Fall Festival on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 12-3 p.m. This fun-filled afternoon includes face painting, balloon twists, DJ, bounce house, photo booth and free raffles with prizes.

That same day, Anointed, Victorious, Outreach Services (AVOS) will hold it’s Third Annual Fall Festival and Community Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1901 S. Poinciana Blvd. This free event offers fun for the whole family and includes live entertainment, bounce houses, carnival games, face painting, free food and raffles. The first 200 attendees will receive a free turkey.

'Tis the season! (Well, almost!) The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) Christmas Parade and Celebration is set for Saturday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. making its way from Cypress Pkwy. to Vance Harmon Park, 625 Country Club. This family friendly event features a grand parade with dozens of floats and participants. Immediately following the parade is the holiday celebration at the amphitheater at Vance Harmon Park. This celebration features a Kid’s Zone, a food truck lane, live entertainment, vendors and crafters, a Battle of the Bands and more.

Save the date! Missionary Church in Poinciana, 4954 Old Pleasant Hill Rd. will hold a food giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon to the first 50 people.
