POINCIANA NEWS — Your guide to Halloween and fall festivals

Green Lakes Stables (3705 S. Poinciana Blvd.) is all in for the season! Enjoy seasonal Halloween festivities on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26-27 and Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 2-6 p.m. This seasonal adventure offers horse riding, petting zoo and kid’s games. The entry fee is $12 per person (cash only) and includes one pony ride for children under 12, with one adult horse ride available for an additional $5. Poinciana Christian Church (3181 Pleasant Hill Road) will host a Trunk or Treat Carnival on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 5 p.m. This free event features candy, food and fun.

 

The Poinciana Library’s Spooky Spectacular happens on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 4:30 p.m. Hear ghostly stories and participate in haunting activities at this family event that will give you the shivers. Come in costume for tricks and treats. No registration is required.

 

The 23rd Annual Fall Arts and Crafts Festival at Solivita takes place on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Solivita Village Center. This free event is open to the public. Enjoy music and strolling entertainers, 120+ artisan and craft vendors, food, ice cream and drinks as well as a wine, beer and art garden. There are plenty of things to keep the kiddos occupied as well. The free kid zone features arts and crafts, face painting, drawing board, DJ, popcorn and balloons. This event is rain or shine.

 

St. Rose of Lima (3880 Pleasant Hill Road) will host a Fall Festival at their Parish Hall on Friday, Nov. 1 from 6-11 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 2 from 12-11 p.m. Enjoy food, family fun and try your luck at their raffle.

 

Valencia College Poinciana AST Tour is an opportunity to learn about the Osceola Center for Accelerated Training programs. There are several chances in the month of November to learn about the Residential Electrician program. This in-person event takes place every Wednesday in November from 2:30-3:30 p. m.

 

On Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. the Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) will honor the community’s brave Veterans at a ceremony at the APV Veterans Memorial Park (401 Walnut St.). The Polk County Color Guard will be in attendance with their presentation of colors to pay tribute to those that have served our country. Local guest speakers will also be in attendance.
