The Poinciana Area Council (PAC), which operates under the umbrella of the Osceola Chamber, is now accepting applications for the 2023 PAC Scholarship. Since 2007, PAC has awarded these educational scholarships to deserving local students.
This scholarship is open to any 2023 graduates living in zip codes 34758, 34759 or 34746.
This year the PAC will award at least two $1,000 scholarships. The winners will be honored at a luncheon on Wednesday, April 19. Applications are due on Friday, March 17.

The Poinciana Predators Football and Cheer Association, a long running youth athletic program that was established in 1989, will soon be holding registration for boys and girls ages 4-14.
Registration is ongoing, with conditioning and strengthening beginning Monday, May 1. The season officially begins Thursday, June 1.
The prices for the entire season are $60 for flag football, $125 for tackle football and $200 for cheerleading. Practices will be at Vance Harmon Park three times a week (6-8 p.m.) with games held Saturdays. For more information, call 689208- 6434.
Girls ages 13-16 can now play softball with Poinciana Little League. Registration is open until March 17. The season runs from April to June. The cost is $50 per player. Practices will be held weekly with games on Saturdays (usually doubleheaders). Most of the games will be played at Poinciana Community Park, 5109 Allegheny Road.

Laurel Elementary School (1851 Laurel Ave.) will host Spring Sale on Saturday, March 25. This Spring Sale is a yard sale, craft sale, community gathering and meet and greet. Space is available. The cost is $12 for one or $20 for two – quite the bargain with an opportunity to sell your crafts or unwanted spring cleaning clutter. To reserve your space, go to the school soon (cash only).
