Love Makes Me Grow, whose mission is to teach communities the value and importance of living off the land, has begun its gardening workshop. This 4-week workshop, has a goal is to teach families to grow their own gardens. This session began Saturday, June 7 and will continue every Saturday through June. The following session begins Saturday, August 16 and runs until Saturday, Sept. 6. These workshops will be held in Village 1. Supplies and seeds will be provided. Spots are limited. Camp iREAD: Perter Pixel Play takes place on Thursday, June 12 from 2-3 p.m. for children ages 6 to 11 (Monday, June 12 from 2-3 p.m. for ages 12 to 18). All can pixelate their favorite video game characters with Perler beads.
The next Camp iREAD will be on Wednesday, June 18 from 10-11 a.m. The theme is Carnival Day. Celebrate summer with games and activities including face painting and fun family crafts.
Cool of at the Library on Friday, June 13 from 2-4 p.m. with the Family Movie Matinee: The Angry Birds Movie 2. Keep cozy with a blanket and pillow from home while watching the flightless birds and scheming green pigs take their behavior to the next level.
Passionate Business Networking Group (PBNG) presents for the first time PBNG SparkPlug fueling young entrepreneurship on Thursday, June 12 from 6-8 p.m. at the Poinciana Library. This is a once-a-month meeting geared towards expanding the minds of young entrepreneurs and giving them the tools to be successful. Independentes 4 x 4 presents Show Out and Roll Out Car Show on Saturday, June 14 at 2 p.m. at 2910 Pleasant Hill Road. There will be food vendors, raffles, music and trophies will be rewarded. Registration for one vehicle is $20 and 2 is $30 (both drivers must be present).
