That night, E.S.O.L. for Beginners will be held on from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This class allows non-English speakers to become more familiar with the English language.
Florida’s severe Weather Awareness Week takes place Feb. 3-7. In partnership with Osceola Emergency Management, youths ages 6-11 may enter the Severe Weather Awareness Challenge. Draw, paint or digitally create an original work of art about Florida’s sometimes severe weather. Illustrate what you will do to prepare in one of these severe weather categories: lightning, marine hazards and rip currents, thunderstorms and tornadoes, hurricanes and flooding, extreme temperatures and wild fires. All artwork should include a written safety message to help teach others about severe weather safety and preparedness.

Original artwork must be submitted via Osceola Library system, biblioboard submission page: https://osceolalibrary.librariesshare.com/severeweather by Saturday, Feb. 1. This contest is open to students from grades K-12. The winning artist will be invited to the Osceola County Emergency Operation Center to celebrate and their art work will be shared across the County on social media and displayed at the winners local Library.
Library branches will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20 in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
