POINCIANA NEWS -- It’s Tax Time! Here’s where to find help

AARP Foundation Tax–Aide provides tax consulting with several preparation options. This service is free of charge, with special focus on those over 50 or have low to moderate income on Mondays through April 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tax–Aide will be at the Anthony DePalma Center (395 Marigold Ave.) These services will be available in both English and Spanish. Learn Computer Tips and Tricks on Thursday, April 3 from 10-11 a.m. If you are new in working with computers, learn shortcuts to help you work efficiently on your computer. Laptops will be provided.

Moffit Cancer Center Wellness Series takes place on Friday, Apr. 4 from 11 a.m. to noon. Learn about prevention tips that can help you reduce your risk of cancer, early detection and screening and local resources. This series is presented by Christian Church MHA, MBA. This month’s topic is Critical Trials.

At 3 p.m., engage with other speakers at Conversational Spanish to practice your Spanish and improve your confidence and vocabulary. Basic Spanish skills are required.

Are you able to easily distinguish the works of Herman Melville, Sylvia Plath and Ernest Hemingway? Participate in this game show style trivia challenge to see if you can take home the classical champion award. This event takes place on Saturday, Apr. 5 from 2-4 p.m.

Conservation Conversations a Toho Water Authority event, takes place at the Library on Wednesday, Apr. 9th at 6:30 p.m. Join in on an informative session of conservation with a Conservation Liaison from Toho Water Authority. Learn practical strategies to reduce water usage in your home and garden. If you are looking to lower your utility bill, preserve resources or just learn on how to be eco-friendly, this event is for you. This is a chance to ask questions, get personalized advice and make a positive impact on your water consumption.
