POINCIANA NEWS — Information on Marigold Avenue improvements

As part of Osceola County’s Marigold Avenue Improvement Project, construction is underway at four intersections: San Lorenzo Road, San Miguel Road, Laurel Avenue and Peabody Road. The total project length is approximately 1.74 miles. New single lane roundabouts will slow traffic and create a more pedestrian friendly environment. For more information, call 407-349-4004.

 

The Community of Poinciana is invited to the Grand Opening Ceremony of Polk County Sheriff ’s Office Ridge District on Monday, Jan. 5 at 10 a.m., 9530 Marigold Ave. Join Sheriff Grady Judd and members of the Polk County Sheriff ’s Office for this new office, which will serve the residents in the incorporated areas of Poinciana. Parking will be available in the front and back lots of the new Ridge District Office.

 

Conversational Spanish takes place at the Poinciana Library on Friday, Jan. 2 from 3-4 p.m. Basic Spanish skills are required.

The Movie Lovers Club presents the movie Maltese Falcon on Saturday, Jan. 3 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Appreciate classic and modern cinema as the group dissect and discuss a new movie each month.

Thinking Money for Kids: Currency Conga for children 3-12 takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 7 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thinking Money for Kids is an initiative of the American Library Association and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation.

The Library will be closed on January 1. All Library programs are free and open to the public. Poinciana Library is located at 101 N. Doverplum Ave.

 

The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) first Friday Night Bingo of the year takes place on Friday, Jan. 2 at the Poinciana Community Center, 445 Marigold Ave. Doors open at 6 p.m., first ball pulled at 7 p.m.

 

Meet Bluey and Bingo live on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 4 p.m. at a free community day at Poinciana Christian Preparatory School North (2525 Trafalgar Blvd.). There will be family fun activities—games and crafts for all ages and free book giveaway from The Learning Partners for Success Book Fair.
