The Association of Poinciana Village’s (APV) Annual Christmas Parade and Celebration is set for this Saturday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. The parade steps off from Vance Harmon Park and is followed by a holiday celebration.
More than 1,000 Poinciana residents usually attend, so keep in mind street closures will begin at 10 a.m. and include Country Club Court, Ship Court, Trophy Lane, South Flag Drive, South Flag Court, Caddy Lane and Doverplum Avenue between Cypress Parkway and Country Club Drive until the parade ends.
On-site parking is limited, guests can park at the Poinciana Activity Campus, (445 Marigold Ave.) and take a free shuttle every 20 minutes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The parade route will be up and down Cypress Parkway. Following the parade the family friendly celebration continues at Vance Harmon Park Amphitheater. There will be professional holiday entertainment, a kids zone, food truck lane, which includes local vendors, crafters, Battle of the Marching Bands and Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Bellalago Veterinary Hospital (3809 Pleasant Hill Road), presents Pet Photos with Santa on Thursday, Dec. 12 and 19 from 5-7 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 21 from 1-3 p.m. Have your pet’s photo taken with Santa, pets should be on the “Nice List” (well-behaved) and up to date with vaccines. The photos with Santa are free, but Bellalago Veterinary Hospital is collecting donations for the Doctor Chrystal Young Memorial Angel Fund.
Share the spirit of the season on Friday, Dec. 13 from 12-2 p.m. at the Poinciana Library. Sing some of the most iconic tunes at Holiday Karaoke.
In addition, a community blood drive will be held at the Library on Wednesday, Dec. 18 from 1-6 p.m.
The Poinciana Library Is located at 101 N. Doverplum Ave.
Falcon Trace II, a 354-unit affordable housing community, is now accepting applications. Falcon Trace II will be located near the Poinciana Sunrail station and will feature 16 residential buildings, a clubhouse, picnic areas, playgrounds, a swimming pool, dog parks and walking trails.
