POINCIANA NEWS: Dog days of summer solution—party with your pet!

It’s a Paw–ty! Paw–Casso Pet Painting Paw–ty, an event by Bellalago Veterinary Hospital takes place on Saturday, June 7 from 3-6 p.m. at Bellalago Veterinary Hospital (3809 Pleasant Hill Road).

Join the Doctor Christa Young Memorial Angel Fund for this pet painting pawty. Unleash your pet’s inner artist at this in-person event. Let your fury friend create a masterpiece with their paws while enjoying a fun and creative experience.

Tickets include an 11 x 14 canvas board, 1-4 colors of paint and a brush to sign your pet’s name to the art or add your own artistic touch. Make sure your pet is on a secure leash. Pet safe paints will be used. Clean towels and wash stations are provided following the painting. For more information, call 407-847-0802.

 

Osceola County Commissioner, District 3, Brandon Arrington and Osceola County Animal Services will host a free micro-chip event on Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valencia College’s Poinciana Campus. To register, go to www.bit.ly/3ZaJWA7.

 

Camp iREAD presents: Foam Palooza! Kick off summer learning with some messy outdoor fun at the Poinciana Library. Enjoy dancing and playing in mountains of foam at this outdoor event. Camp iREAD kicks off on Wednesday, June 4 from 10-11 a.m. This event is for school age children.

Lawyers in the Library: Navigating Immigration takes place on June 4 from 6:30--7:30 p.m. Presented by the Immigration Advocates Law Firm, this information session will guide you through the immigration process. Learn about available resources, legal support and educational tools to help navigate this complex journey.

All Library programs are free and open to the public.

 

Orlando City Soccer School—Poinciana Summer Camp will be held at Knights Point K-8 School. The Soccer Camp runs through the months of June and July. For more information, call or text 407-792-1508.

 

ALCO Poinciana (1030 Cypress Parkway) is offering summer classes beginning in June. English classes will be held Monday thru Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon from Monday, June 9 to Thursday, July 24. Tuesday and Thursday evening classes from 5:30-8:30 are also available. An ALCO English class will also be held at Deerwood Elementary on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-8:30 p.m. from Tuesday, June 10 until Thursday, July 24.

Tuition for these classes are $55 for new students; $30 for returning students.

Another offering by ALCO is The General Education Development Program (GED). This class provides instruction in math, language arts, social studies and science. Each subject for the GED course is $38 for a total cost of $152.
