The Christmas celebrations continue in Poinciana.
First Baptist Poinciana (601 Walnut St.) presents its Christmas Spectacular 2022 on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m.
The church’s Spanish Ministry will share “Inside a Puerto Rican Christmas.” There will be choirs, dances and other fun entertainment. All children will receive a goody bag, hot chocolate and snacks. The forecast calls for be “snow”, strolling Christmas characters and others – there may even be a dinosaur or two Kids can also enjoy a train ride after the Christmas presentation. This event is free.
Poinciana Library’s Holiday Around the World takes place on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 2-4 p.m. Have fun while experiencing the wonder of holiday culture globally through activities, food and performances.
Take and Make: Chrystal Cane Ornaments will be available for pickup beginning Wednesday, Dec. 21. Spruce up your holiday tree with an elegant candy cane ornament. Take-and-make kits are available for pick-up while supplies last.
The Library is closed Saturday through Monday, Dec. 24-26 for Christmas.
OneBlood’s Big Red Bus will be onsite at the Library on Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 1- 6 p.m. If you would like to donate, a face covering must be worn. Temperatures will be taken upon arrival. For more information, visit OneBlood.org.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office will present Three Kings Day Celebration 2023 on Saturday, Jan. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Poinciana Community lawn, (445 Marigold Ave.) This event is for residents of Polk County and includes food, music and children’s activities. Children’s gifts will be handed out by Three Kings starting at noon (while supplies last). All children who wish to receive a gift must be registered. To register go to, www.unation.com.
HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is offering a virtual class on Bariatric Surgery Pre-op Readiness on Thursday, Dec. 15 (today) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This class is for anyone planning on having weight loss surgery. Topics include a pre-op checklist and guide you to where to go in the hospital on your surgery day and dietary requirements (before surgery, in the hospital and after discharge). The following day, Friday, Dec. 16 from 10:30-11:30 a.m., an inperson seminar, Decoding Weight Loss will be held at the Hospital (325 Cypress Parkway – first floor, Poinciana Room). Instructor Erika Jubitana will explain the science of losing weight: calories burned must be greater than calories consumed, etc. This class takes place every Friday at the Hospital.

Spring Little League Baseball 2023 registration is now open. Poinciana Little League registration fee is $150 per player and includes the team jersey, hat and socks.
