It’s the most wonderful time of the year – NOT. Tax time is approaching.

AARP Tax Aide can help. AARP Foundation Tax – Aide offers free tax preparation services. This service will be available on Mondays from Feb. 6 to April 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Anthony DePalma Center (395 Marigold Ave.)

Due to continuing COVID concerns, normal operating procedures are a little different from past years. The services will be available by appointment only, there will be walk-ins accepted. When you arrive for your appointment you will give all your documents to a Tax-Aide volunteer, who will interview regarding the information and have you sign a waiver allowing the documents in their possession while you are not present. You then leave the tax preparation room and wait. Upon completion, you will be called back into the room where you dropped off the paper work. Your taxes will be reviewed with you. For an appointment, contact The Center at 863-427-0900.

Dolores Wright Art Exhibit will be on display at the Poinciana Library through March 17. Dolores Wright was born and raised in North Carolina and moved to Florida in 2019. When the Coronavirus pandemic began and activities were restricted, she began doing Diamond Dots to help pass the time. The hobby began to be so much more than the pictures that were displayed and shows her enthusiasm and talent. Wright selects her subjects based on her understanding of what people can relate to. Dolores Wright hopes you enjoy her work and that it makes you smile.
