Osceola County has launched an Automated Traffic Safety Program designed to change driver behavior, reduce reckless speeding in school zones and prioritize the safety of children. Following a 30-day warning period, citations will be issued to drivers exceeding posted speed limits by 10 miles per hour more during school hours. Warnings will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 7 and citations, which include a $100 fine, will take effect on Thursday, Feb. 6. See flashing lights? Then slow down, people!
