Be safe this week as we ride out Hurricane Ian. As it stands now, the Boots, Bulls and Barrels rodeo at the Silver Spurs Rodeo and Vette Fest at Old Town on Saturday are still on schedule. Check with silverspursrodeo.com (and its social media channels) and myoldtownusa.com for further information. Here’s hoping we get to see Corvettes, classic and new, during the day, and the best in bull riding action and barrel racers going up against the clock (and one another) to win their share of the prize money.

Kissimmee Farmer’s Market returns Oct. 7. The Kissimmee Valley Farmer’s Market is a project of the Kissimmee Main Street Program. The market’s mission is to improve public health and nutrition options by providing a vehicle to educate the community, assist area farmers, producers and artisans with sustainable business opportunities, and create local pride while furthering the economic development of our community. Kissimmee Farmer’s market runs from 5-8 p.m. at 92 Pleasant St. in Kissimmee (next to the Toho Square parking garage). Visit www. kissimmeemainstreet.org for more information or to become a vendor.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Viva Osceola! makes it way to Lakefront in Kissimmee Oct. 8 from 11am-6pm. Join the 30th year of Osceola County’s premier Latin festival, Viva Osceola!, proudly sponsored by Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital, features authentic Latin food and traditional Hispanic pastries, a live mural artist and headliner Domino Saints coming in hot to perform some hit songs like “Buya”. This celebration is one you don’t want to miss. For more information on the event visit www. theosceolachamber.com.
