It’s time to transition from turkey to gingerbread and sugar cookies.

That is exactly what Kissimmee has for everyone to enjoy to get in that holiday spirit.

It’s First Friday week! The next Kissimmee Valley Farmer’s Market a project of the Kissimmee Main Street Program, is this Friday, Dec. 2. The market’s mission is to improve public health and nutrition options by providing a vehicle to educate the community, assist area farmers, producers and artisans with sustainable business opportunities, and create local pride while furthering the economic development of our community. Kissimmee Farmers market runs from 5-8 p.m. located on the field at Pleasant Street and Monument Avenue next to the Toho Square parking garage. Visit www. kissimmeemainstreet.org for more information or to become a vendor.

That evening, stroll across the street to Lakefront Park to be reminded that, “Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.”

Gather with the Kissimmee community for a Dr. Seuss holiday classic at Movie in the Park. “The Grinch” will be shown Friday. The festivities, sponsored by Kissimmee Utility Authority, start at 5:30 p.m. More information can be found at www.kua.com.

Prior to the movie, join the Downtown Kissimmee Council for a festive First Friday at Broadway Pizza Bar. Network and dine from 4-6 p.m. before the movie. For more information visit www. osceolachamber.com.

Another classic is making its way to Kissimmee. Osceola Arts is debuting Oliver starting December and will run most of December. The production follows Orphan Oliver ventures to the Victorian streets of London and joins Fagin and his group of petty pickpockets. After being taken in by Mr. Brownlow, Oliver must dodge Fagin’s henchmen who threaten his chances at finding love and acceptance in this musical adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ classic.
