You may have gotten your fill of pumpkin spice during Halloween this week, but what gives off the feel of fall more than a Farmer’s Market? That is exactly what Kissimmee has for everyone to enjoy to get in that mood. Held the first Friday of every month, the next one is this week, Nov. 4. The Kissimmee Valley Farmer’s Market is a project of the Kissimmee Main Street Program. The market’s mission is to improve public health and nutrition options by providing a vehicle to educate the community, assist area farmers, producers and artisans with sustainable business opportunities, and create local pride while furthering the economic development of our community. Kissimmee Farmers market runs from 5-8 p.m. located at 92 Pleasant St., next to the Toho Square parking garage. Visit www.kissimmeemainstreet.org for more information or to become a vendor.

Every year in the beginning of November, the Orlando Japan Festival takes place. It’s where you can experience authentic Japanese music, dance and other entertainment, and of course sample the variety of Japanese foods and drinks as well. It almost feels like you’re transported to one of those local festivals in Japan. Sunday’s festival opens with the performance of Taiko Drumming, “One Hundred Drummers.” Vendors will be selling Japanese foods such as takoyaki (octopus ball), Ramune (soda), taiyaki (fish-shaped cake), and the like. Additional vendors will be selling various Japanese arts and crafts. The event will be held at Kissimmee Lakefront Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information visit www.jorlando.com.
