Farmer’s Market and Car Show scheduled for Sunday *Canceled*

UPDATE: The Love Makes Me Grow Farmers Market and Car Show scheduled for Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Deerwood Elementary School (3701 Marigold Ave.) has been *canceled*.

The school will host a Spring Fling on May 14 — stay plugged in for details.

 

Love Makes Me Grow Inc., is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that promotes and d evelops the social and economic growth of the individual, regardless of limitations and boundaries. Its mission statement is to, “Teach communities the value and importance of living off the land.” The organization was founded by Nilisa Council. The Program Director is Ashley Guss.

As of this writing there were over 25 confirmed vendors, with the list still growing. There is still space for more vendors and cars for display. For more information about this event, email marketing@ lovemakesmegrow.info.

 

The Poinciana Area Council’s (PAC) April First Friday event will be April 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Poinciana High School (2300 S. Poinciana Blvd.) in Café 91 at Eagles Kitchen. This date is the PAC’s annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon. The PAC will be honoring four graduating seniors from the Poinciana area who will be awarded scholarships.

Guest speakers will be County Commissioner, District 3, Brandon Arrington and Assistant Superintendent, School District Osceola County Dr. Chundra Evans. The luncheon will be catered by Eagles Kitchen, run by students in Poinciana High’s magnet Culinary Program. Guests will be treated to a multi-course meal and while learning about how area businesses could work with the PHS Culinary Program and the Osceola Business Academy. As area COVID-19 testing sites began to close, Central Florida Health Care Inc. will be conducting walkup and drive-thru testing and screening on Tuesday (March 29) from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital’s parking lot (325 Cypress Parkway).
