From there, head just across the street to Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ’s “Lucky 7” anniversary party to celebrate seven years of serving up quality barbecue in Kissimmee. Big John’s will be offering menu specials, and adding a few new surprises. On top of that, they will have The Bud Light and Corona Girls in attendance while you sit back and enjoy live music and the day’s college football games. The celebration lasts through 9 p.m. at 220 E. Monument Ave.

If live sports, with a cause, is your speed, Evence Eliassaint and the members of StopCappin Entertainment will host a 7on7 “Tiktok Vs Youtube” Charity Flag Football Game on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Archie Gordon Field (420 Buenaventura Blvd.) This event will match up 7 TikTokers and 7 YouTubers up against each other in a game of flag football in order to establish the better social media platform while also spreading suicide awareness during National Suicide Prevention Week. For more information on the event, contact stopcappininc@gmail.com.

If a low-key, indoor activity is what you seek Saturday, encourage your child’s love of reading with great books and enrichment activities that build early literacy skills with the Osceola Public Library. It will be hosting a reading event with local author Natalia Sepúlveda. She will be reading from her book, ‘Kai The Missionary Sea Turtle’. Ages 5 and under are invited to the Hart Memorial Library from 1-2 p.m. For more information, visit www.osceolalibrary.org.

It’s always fun to venture out to find a new watering hole. Orlando’s Bartender Convention is coming to Kissimmee on Sept. 17. This convention will spotlight multiple local bars of Central Florida. There is some exceptional talent that a lot of the locals haven’t come across yet, and this is your chance to patronize, sample and indulge in cocktails of all genres. There will be plenty of cocktails (of course), food vendors and also live performances all night from local musical talent of Florida. The event will be at Amador Galleria (2533 Old Vineland Rd.) starting at 4 p.m. For more information, visit www.eventbrite.com.
