The city of Kissimmee’s Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for Learn to Swim group lessons starting on June 29 at the Bob Makinson Aquatic Center, located at 2204 Denn John Lane, Kissimmee.
Group swim lessons are offered for youth as young as 6 months old to adults. Parent and Child, Preschool, Youth, and Adult classes are offered. Cost is $60 per session, and there are seven two-week sessions beginning on June 29 and running through Oct. 1. Classes are held Monday through Thursday and are 30 minutes in length.
The Bob Makinson Aquatic Center is also offering brand new weekend sessions on Saturdays and Sundays for two consecutive weekends that are an hour in length. Due to the weather being unpredictable, a six-class minimum is guaranteed for weekday lessons and three classes minimum for weekend classes.
Private swim lessons are also offered and scheduled at your convenience. These lessons are $30 per half hour or $125 for a five-lesson package. These private lessons may be purchased at any time.
Classes are scheduled in response to demand. Registrations will be accepted at the Bob Makinson Aquatic Center until classes are filled. Registration over the next two weeks can be done between 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Bob Makinson Aquatic Center. It is highly recommended individuals register as soon as possible to guarantee your requested session, class and time.

The Aquatic Center opened to the public today, June 15, with reduced occupancy and enhanced safety measures. The pool will be open every day from noon to 2 p.m. and from 2:30 o 4:30 p.m.
