Have you checked out the Association of Poinciana Village’s (APV) Fitness Center lately? The center (397 Marigold Ave.), renovated in 2019, offers state of the art equipment to meet a variety of fitness needs. In addition, the facility has a weight room and a basketball court.
The APV Fitness Center now has two insurance sponsored programs. Renew Active by UnitedHealthcare and SilverSneakers have been approved. Whether you want to stay healthy and in shape or if you wish to transform your body into a new you, the APV Fitness Center is your new go-to place!
Hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. The rates for gym use are $5 per day for residents and $7 per day for non-residents. Individual monthly rates are $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. Family monthly rates are $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents. Rates for basketball court usage is $4 for two hours and $5 for three hours.

The OneBlood Bus will be making a stop at the APV parking lot (401 Walnut St.) on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All donors will receive a pair of OneBlood cancer awareness socks, a t-shirt, a $20 e-Gift card, plus a wellness check that includes blood pressure, temperatures, iron count, pulse and cholesterol screening. The Poinciana Community Center (445 Marigold Ave.) is your spot for Bingo every Friday night. Doors open at 6 p.m., with first number called at 7 p.m. The cost is $5 for 10 games, with cash prizes. The concession stand is open and Bingo supplies are available for purchase. Friday night Bingo is for ages 18 and up.
Pamper yourself at the Poinciana Library, 101 N. Doverplum Rd., Thursday (tonight) from 5-6 p.m. Spend the night creating your own mud pack and other spa essentials in honor of National Mud Pack Day. Supplies are provided for this DIY Spa Night.
On Oct. 1 and 8, there will be Hispanic Movie Matinee from 2-5 p.m. Explore stories of Hispanic heritage and culture through film in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. This week’s movie will be McFarland USA. The Oct. 8 movie will be Spare Parts.
Nomi Health Walkup testing will be on Oct. 6 and 13 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nomi Health will provide walk-up COVID-19 testing to the community. Appointments are not necessary, however individuals may preregister at http://testing. nomihealth.com/signup/fl.
All library programs are free and open to the public.
