Two people were killed in a head-on Poinciana Boulevard crash on Monday, after one vehicle crossed over into the oncoming lanes.

A Florida Highway Patrol press release stated that a 21-year-old Kissimmee man was driving a sedan-type vehicle southbound on Poinciana Boulevard at about 1:05 p.m., near Reaves Road, when he traveled into the northbound lane.

The sedan then hit a SUV head-on driven by a 33-year-old Kissimmee man.

The impact of the crash tossed the driver of the sedan into the back seat, where he landed on a 6-year-old passenger, and was pronounced dead. A female front right passenger was ejected from the sedan. She was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

The 6-year-old was listed in serious condition at Arnold Palmer hospital. Neither of the three in the sedan were wearing seat belts, according to FHP.

The SUV driver was listed in serious condition. He was wearing a seat belt.

Poinciana Boulevard was shut down for multiple hours.

FHP no longer identifies crash victims in its reports due to Marsy’s Law, a state constitutional amendment designed to protect victims of crimes.

The crash remains under investigation.
