The excitement of the Mecum Kissimmee auto and road art auction returns to Osceola Heritage Park Jan. 4-15. It’s still four months away … but it’s time to get excited now!
Mecum officials project some 4,000 vehicle consignments to be offered, and this year’s Kissimmee headliners are going to be, as usual, impressive. You want muscle and power? The Chuck Cocoma Judge & GTO Ram Air IV Collection features an exceedingly rare Orbit Orange 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air IV Convertible, and includes six Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air IVs from the 1969 and 1970 model years, among its nine pieces. They include a 1970 Pontiac GTO Ram Air IVs and a 1969 Pontiac GTO Ram Air IV. The Ram Air IV option was only offered in 1969 and 1970 and today stands as one of the rarest variations of what is on referred to as the very first muscle car: the Pontiac GTO.
“Nobody has ever had nine Ram Air IVs in one place at one time and owned all nine,” collector Chuck Cocoma stated. “The most I’ve seen with another collection was two. They’re rare cars.”
At a record $217 million in sales, last year’s Mecum Kissimmee auction was the first-ever live collector car auction to exceed $200 million barrier, truly rarefied air for any car auction, let alone Mecum.
The thousands of other cars available at auction will include the usual lineup of American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, exotics, trucks, hot rods, customs and more.
The event will feature live coverage on MotorTrendTV and MotorTrend+.
