More than 240 students at Tohopekaliga High School students were quarantined last week due to COVID-19 concerns, according to the Osceola County School District.

Of the 247 students that were quarantined at the high school, only 10 have tested positive, the district website showed. Five school staff members were quarantined, but none tested positive.

The school website has a section (https://www.osceolaschools.net/Page/7027) where people can check on the number of students and school personnel that either have been quarantined or have tested positive.

Here are some other schools:
•A total of 95 Harmony High School students were sent home, with 5 testing positive for the coronavirus.

•There were 86 students quarantined at St. Cloud High School, with 6 testing positive.

•At Horizon Middle School, 85 students were quarantined, with 4 testing positive. Four staff members were quarantined, with 1 testing positive.

•And 63 students were quarantined at Gateway High School, with 4 testing positive. Eleven staff members were sent home, with one testing positive.

According to the district website, it is the goal of the Osceola County School District to be completely transparent in reporting COVID incidents so that all of its stakeholders feel informed about the number of positive cases in its schools.

As part of an agreement to the Osceola community to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the district has created protocols to help school officials consistently respond to reports of exposure and confirmed positive cases by quickly isolating and quarantining students and staff when necessary as incidents arise as recommended by the CDC and the Department of Health.

The district updates the list every Monday.
