Families can take a night off from the stress of getting ready for the holidays next Friday by grabbing their lawn chairs and blankets and coming out to Lakefront Park to view a classic blockbuster movie.
Kissimmee Utility Authority, in partnership with the City of Kissimmee, hosts its free Movie in the Park event on Dec. 3 at the Veterans Lawn of Kissimmee Lakefront Park.
This month’s movie is the holiday classic, “Home Alone,” featuring the 1990 cinematographic debut of Macaulay Culkin, shown on a giant 50-foot screen. The movie will also feature closed captioning for the hearing impaired.
The movie begins at 7 p.m.; activities begin at 5:30 p.m. with KUA’s inflatable Kids Power Zone, craft station, photo booth, free popcorn, and prize giveaways. Onsite concessions will be available. Through hands-on demonstrations, attendees will also learn how to lower their monthly electric bills.
As part of the holidaythemed event, the utility will also offer a free snow slide; those wishing to participate in the snow slide activity should bring a canned food item or toy that will be donated to a local non-profit.
The movie is part of KUA’s six-month “Movie in the Park” series running through March.
