Education Foundation already collecting school supplies for next year

Annual School Supply Drive starts July 1

One school year is ending, but it’s no time for a summer vacation at the Education Foundation Osceola County, which will be working over the break to collect school supplies for students this coming fall.

The Foundation’s annual School Supply Drive starts again on July 1 to help support students in need of basic supplies.

According to the Foundation, In Osceola County, 75% of students live in low-to-moderate income households, meaning many children begin the school year without the supplies they need to succeed.

Annually, the community gets involved to make sure all of Osceola’s students are prepared to start the new school year. As part of the supply drive, the Foundation encourages residents to donate new school supplies such as backpacks and the things that go in them— pens and pencils, notebooks, crayons, folders and more. Hosting a collection drive or a drop-off location can pile up the donations quicker, or make a financial contribution—the Foundation is able to make every $1 donated provide up to $10 in school supplies through supplier partnerships.

This year, through a raffle, donors can earn chances to win $5,000 cash with every $25 raffle ticket purchased.

Mark your calendars for July 1 through Aug. 31, and go to foundationosceola.org .for more information on how to donate to this year’s School Supply Drive.
